LSU Coding Circle

at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA

Program Dates: July 3rd - July 21st, 2017

Program Overview

The LSU Coding Circle summer program is a three-week coding summer camp at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA designed to provide high schoolers with an in-depth intro to coding.

Throughout the three-week program, our instructors will introduce students to the basic concepts, algorithms, and data structures necessary to build real applications with Python, a powerful yet easy-to-learn language ubiquitous to the software development industry. Topics covered will include basic 2D graphics programming, computational mathematics, data processing and statistical analysis, computational audio, and discrete physics simulation. Emphasis will be placed on giving students hands-on experience with a wide variety of interesting topics in applied computer science, as well as equipping them with the tools and knowledge to further explore the topics that interest them. The course will conclude with a free-form project in which students choose a topic of interest and create a program that demonstrates their knowledge and exploration thereof.
